About Tahi

Tahi Avenue is a New Zealand-based art and design studio creating contemporary artwork for modern, architectural spaces.

Each piece is carefully developed with a focus on balance, materiality, colour and form, designed to integrate seamlessly within refined interiors, not simply fill a wall.

Drawing inspiration from the textures, light, landscapes and natural elements of Aotearoa, our collections explore subtle movement, tonal depth and considered composition. Created for spaces where detail matters, Tahi Avenue brings a sense of calm, structure and quiet impact, the finishing layer that completes a room.

The story behind the studio

Tahi Avenue was founded by Michelle Brown, a New Zealander with more than 30 years of experience across design, print and marketing, working with some of New Zealand's and the world's most recognised brands.

The studio came to life in the most personal of ways. After building her own home, Michelle found herself faced with walls that deserved more than what was readily available, artwork that felt considered, architectural and genuinely made for the space rather than simply placed within it.

"I couldn't find large-scale artwork that felt right for a modern New Zealand home. So I created it."

With deep experience in print production, design and understanding how creative work sits within real environments, Michelle brought professional rigour to what began as a personal search.

The result is Tahi Avenue, an art studio built on the belief that the right artwork doesn't just decorate a space, it defines it.

Our creative process

At Tahi Avenue, we believe great art can come from many ideas, influences, techniques and creative tools.

Our work is developed through a considered, hands-on creative process that may combine photography, illustration, Photoshop, digital manipulation and AI-assisted technology.

AI is one of the tools within our creative studio. We use it alongside more traditional and digital techniques to explore ideas, develop imagery and take creative concepts in new directions. It doesn't replace the creative process, it gives us another way to experiment and create.

Every Tahi Avenue artwork is creatively directed, selected, developed and refined by us, with careful consideration given to composition, colour, detail, scale and, importantly, how the finished piece will live within an interior.

For us, technology doesn't replace creativity. It expands what's creatively possible.

Tahi Avenue brings together traditional, digital and emerging creative tools to create distinctive contemporary artwork for modern spaces.

The work

Every piece in the Tahi Avenue collection is available as a high-quality print, or professionally printed and framed to order.

Our sizes are deliberately designed for scale, to anchor a room, create a focal point and bring a sense of intention to contemporary interiors.

Limited-edition works are released in carefully considered collections, with each piece individually numbered and never reproduced once the edition has sold.

We ship nationwide across New Zealand.

I hope you enjoy some our our amazing pieces.
